thoughts: boxes

"To be nobody but yourself in a world that's doing it's best day and night to make you everybody else, is to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting." - E. E. Cummings

I talk and think about boxes often. The boxes, labels, expectations that we surround ourselves and each other. The unnecessary, subconscious pressure to BE better, to change, that we're not good enough, not LIKE enough.

Instead try to look inward and connect with our selves, our inner truths. To live with this battle is exhausting. It's human nature to desire a connection, a "like", a similarity that brings us closer to others, but our differences are meant to be celebrated. Since I'm on social media often, I find this pressure becomes overwhelming at times, so I make sure to disconnect completely and recharge, I also try to connect only with brands/people on social media that will "fill" me, not deplete me of my inner balance.

Breathe in. Breathe out. Look in. Not out.

Can you relate to this pressure? What do you do to reconnect with your inner balance/voice?  Please comment below.

{ Below is a wonderful cover by the band WOTE, I just love the way they created this video as well as the message of the song. Enjoy and don't forget to comment! }
